It’s here, the weekend we have been counting down to all year, the Bathurst 1000!

After an incredible weekend at The Bend, the whole Walkinshaw TWG Racing Team are ready to back up those strong results again here this weekend.

161 laps, 1000kms, the toughest race in Australian motorsport, bring it on.

The Track

What more can you say about Bathurst? 6.2 kilometres of the most amazing piece of road in Australia (and the world if you ask us…).

With 23 wild corners from Conrod to McPhillamy, The Grate to Forrest Elbow, it’s a hold your breath operation for most of the lap, leaving no room for error with an average speed of 181km/h.

Tyres

We are on the Dunlop soft tyre all weekend.

Format

Thursday: The on track action kicks off on Thursday with two practice sessions, Practice 1 is with all drivers and Practice 2 is a co-driver only session.

Friday: It’s qualifying day! The day starts with two more practice sessions for all drivers then at 4:10pm AEDT pit exit opens for a 30-minute qualifying session that will set the grid for positions 11-26.

Saturday: There are two final practice sessions today, with Practice 5 being a co-driver only session and Practice 6 for all drivers. Then Top-10 drivers from qualifying on Friday get the opportunity for one lap to themselves around The Mountain, there is no other feeling like it. The Top-10 shootout kicks off at 5:05pm AEDT, make sure you tune in!

Sunday: It’s the day we look forward to all year! The morning kicks off with a 30-minute warm-up session which sees all drivers get one more run before the lights go out for the 1,000km big dance at 11:30am.

Pitstops

There are no minimum number of pitstops or tyre changes during pitstops for endurance races, this puts a big focus on strategy over these longer races. How many times and when you stop, all comes down to strategy.

Weather

There looks to be a couple showers on Saturday and Sunday, but nothing compared to what we had at The Bend. Otherwise, clear skies and temperatures in the low 20’s.

How to Watch

Fox Sports and Kayo will have you covered for every session live across the weekend. For the free to air viewers Channel 7 will have Saturday and Sunday live. For the Kiwi fans Sky Sports will cover all of the on-track action.

Chaz Mostert

“It’s my favourite weekend of the year, there is no feeling like driving into Bathurst and seeing the Mount Panorama sign, it sends chills down your spine.

“Fabs and I are definitely after a bit of redemption this year, the goal this weekend is to pay Robbo a visit after the race but with a bottle of champagne.”

Fabian Coulthard

“It’s the biggest weekend of the year! It was great to start off the enduro season with a win with Chazzie which locked him into the finals.

“After coming P2 in 2022 here with Chaz, we are keen to make that result one step higher this year and everyone in the team has been putting in the work to help us do that.”

Ryan Wood

“I’ve been looking forward to this weekend all year, our team always stands up at Bathurst and I know they have been putting in the hard yards all year for this weekend.

“I’m excited to get back behind the wheel with my Kiwi mate, Jaxon, he proved at The Bend he deserves to be here and I can’t wait to get out there with him.”

Jaxon Evans

“It’s been a pretty special last few weeks with the Team after getting my first Supercars podium at The Bend, but the hard work doesn’t stop there.

“I’m excited to get out there, the first laps around Bathurst are pretty eye-opening, you don’t even want to blink incase you miss something.”
