We are heading West to Perth for Round 8 of the 2026 Supercars Championship.

Wanneroo Raceway is a happy hunting ground for our Team over the recent years, with Ryan Wood claiming his maiden Supercars win there last year and Chaz Mostert winning the year before.

It’s back to two races on Saturday and one on Sunday, so there is plenty of action to watch across the weekend!

The Track

Wanneroo Raceway is a tight and tricky racetrack, at just 2.4kms per lap. The car must be set-up to flow through the corners of the first half of the lap, but you also need a strong braking package to pull the car up into the last corner.

Previously, this track has been the highest degradation circuit on the calendar before it was resurfaced in 2019 which saw some improvements to degradation. It is critical to focus on tyre life towards the end of the race as this track is brutal on tyres.

Format

Friday: On track action begins with two 25-minute practice sessions which are back-to-back.

Saturday: There are two qualifying sessions for Race 23 and 24 which follow the below format:

• Part 1: Sets the grid for positions 11 – 24
• Part 2: Sets the grid for positions 1 – 10

There will be two 120km races on Saturday afternoon that will see the lights go out for Race 23 at 12:45pm AWST and Race 24 at 4:20pm.

Sunday: There is a three-part qualifying session for Race 25 which will follow the below format:

• Part 1: Sets the grid for P19 – P24
• Part 2: Sets the grid for P11 – P18
• Top 10 Shootout: Determines the top 10 positions for the race

The final race of the weekend will get underway at 3:20pm AWST, for 200km of exciting racing.

Tyres

We will be running both the Dunlop Soft and Dunlop SuperSoft compound tyres. For Race 23 and 25 we will be on the Dunlop Soft tyre and Race 24 we will be on the Dunlop SuperSoft tyre.

Pitstops

There is a minimum for one compulsory pit stop for Saturday’s races, with a minimum of two tyres being changed. On Sunday there are two compulsory pit stops for Race 25, how many tyres are changed all come down to strategy.

Weather

It looks to be a weekend of sun in Perth, with temperatures hitting the low 20’s which will be a nice change for us Melbournians.
