Today wasn’t the way we wanted to finish our weekend at Queensland Raceway, with Ryan finishing P13 and Chaz forced to retire from the race.
Qualifying kicked off our final day of racing here at Ipswich, with Car 2 struggling to switch on the green tyres. As a result, Ryan lined up P17 for Race 28.
Chaz scored himself a ticket to the Top 10 Shootout, putting him right in the hunt for the race.

It wasn’t the start we were after, with Chaz losing a spot in the opening few laps, while Ryan got caught in the thick of the chaotic traffic, and was thrown about in the opening stages.
The Mobil 1 Truck Assist Racing No. 2 came into the lane on Lap 17 for a top-up of fuel, with the Mobil 1 Optus Racing No. 1 coming in the following lap.
At the half way point of the race, unfortunately, Chaz was forced to retire the car due to an engine issue.
Ryan continued to battle it out on track, gaining a few positions before coming into the lane for the final stop of the race. He received green rear tyres to help give him an extra push in the final stint of the race.
Once the field cycled, Ryan was sitting effectively P13, with the focus on maintaining position as the cars around him had fresher tyres.
Ultimately, Ryan crossed the line in P13, gaining four positions from where he started.

“We can’t let today takeaway from the overall weekend, we’ve improved our qualifying and race package which is awesome, we are still chasing those front cars in some areas, but we are getting there.
“I have the best crew and team behind me, they never give up when the chips are down, I wouldn’t ask to do this with anyone else, and we are rolling in to some big weekends from here.
“That’s a wrap on the sprint cup, Fabs and I have some unfinished business so we want to make the most of the next few rounds together.”

“A pretty tough weekend on our side of the garage, but these are the weekends where you learn heaps.
“We were chasing our tail with our quali car which put us in difficult positions during the races.
“It’s onto enduro season now, I’m keen as to have Jaxon Evans on board this year. He’s an all around great bloke and I’m excited for him to show everyone what he’s capable of in a Supercar.”
